Research review workflow.

An illustrative sequence for turning a public observation into a research record and a reviewed decision.

The sequence

Five steps from source to review.

A proposed sequence for a source, a reviewer, and a recorded decision.

  1. 01

    Choose a public source

Start with one page or feed you are allowed to monitor.

  2. 02

    Capture the evidence

Save the URL, timestamp, and a short excerpt in the same record.

  3. 03

    Write a review prompt

Ask a focused question about the change worth checking.

  4. 04

    Make the human call

A reviewer separates what the source says from what it might mean.

  5. 05

    Keep a queue

Pass the reviewed record to a Google Sheets handoff for follow up.

Guardrail

Keep the source attached to the note.

The original observation stays attached to its source URL and timestamp. A reviewer records the interpretation and next step, so a later reader can retrace the decision.

Working principles

A research note should be traceable.

  1. EvidenceURL, timestamp, and excerpt stay in one record.
  2. JudgmentObservation and interpretation are kept separate.
  3. AccountabilityA named reviewer owns the next decision.
