Focus areas

Areas of interest.

My main interests are business analysis, marketing analytics, and operations. Each topic below connects to relevant projects and proposed exercises.

Primary focus

Projects and examples organized by area.

Additional areas I’m exploring

Other interests, with examples of what I’d need to learn next.

Finance & banking

Financial Analyst · Corporate Finance Analyst · Risk Analyst · Credit Analyst · Commercial Banking · Investor Relations · Portfolio Operations

Economics, an Accounting minor, Excel analysis, SQL validation, and business reporting provide transferable foundations.

Financial modeling, valuation, credit underwriting, and portfolio analysis need additional evidence for roles that require them.

Illustrative learning brief · Proposed

How would I investigate a department’s monthly budget variance?

In a synthetic practice exercise, reconcile actual and budget totals, calculate dollar and percentage differences, separate timing from recurring changes, and document questions for the budget owner. Specialized credit, risk, investment, and valuation work would require additional domain training.

Proposed output: A reconciled variance table and a short explanation of the largest drivers, with assumptions and unresolved questions.

Specialized product

B2B / SaaS Product Management · Consumer Software Product Management · AI Product Management

Customer feedback collaboration, journey prototyping, and business AI workflows are the most relevant starting points.

Fit depends on the product and its technical requirements. These interests do not imply prior SaaS or AI product ownership.

Illustrative learning brief · Proposed

Which user problem should a small software product team investigate next?

Compare feedback themes, affected users, observed behavior, and implementation constraints. For an AI feature, add an explicit evaluation plan for output quality, failure cases, and human review before proposing a pilot.

Proposed output: A problem prioritization brief and an evaluation plan. This is a proposed learning exercise, not prior SaaS or AI product ownership.

Content & event marketing

Content Marketing / Strategy · Event Marketing

Benefit focused copy, creative testing, audience research, and presentation work transfer most directly to content strategy.

Event registrations were a proposed NYUC KPI. Event production, logistics, and budgeting remain areas for further learning.

Illustrative learning brief · Proposed

How could a team connect an educational event with a useful content plan?

Define the audience and intended action, draft a content calendar, specify registration and attendance events, and plan a post event review. Confirm logistics and ownership with an experienced event lead.

Proposed output: A content calendar, event journey map, and measurement brief. All proposed rather than a claim of delivered event production.

Organizational strategy

Change Management Consulting · Chief of Staff

Research synthesis, stakeholder feedback, product collaboration, and clear recommendations support analytical project work.

Organization wide change leadership and executive operating ownership are future development areas.

Illustrative learning brief · Proposed

How would I help a team coordinate a change to a recurring process?

Map affected contributors, current handoffs, proposed changes, dependencies, and open decisions. Prepare a communication plan and collect feedback during a bounded pilot.

Proposed output: A stakeholder map, responsibility table, decision log, and pilot status update. The scope is analytical project support.

Healthcare analytics & economics

Healthcare Data Analytics · Healthcare Economics

Economics, public data analysis, SQL validation, and research communication are relevant foundations for learning the domain.

The current work does not establish clinical, claims, insurance pricing, or healthcare economics modeling experience.

Illustrative learning brief · Proposed

How would I prepare to analyze an unfamiliar public healthcare utilization report?

Read the data dictionary, confirm population coverage and time periods, define the denominator, and check missing or suppressed values before making comparisons. Seek domain review and avoid interpreting descriptive differences as clinical or causal findings.

Proposed output: A source and definition sheet, validated descriptive table, and questions for a domain expert. This is a proposed learning brief, not established healthcare domain experience.
